Weekend Writing Warriors - WIP New York Minute #8Sunday

Another week of 8! I will continue with New York Minute
Chloe has dragged Veronica to a Speed Dating event. Veronica is not happy.

Taking a deep breath, she wound her way to her seat which happened to be an intimate table with two bucket seats. She scooted in and picked up the pen that sat next to the cocktail menu and stared at her Speeding Ticket. Ten to twelve dates? She couldn’t even pretend that she was a people-person for two minutes, how would she do this for an hour and a half? She looked in her friend’s direction, and Chloe waved her fingers, crossing her legs to try  to look prim and proper. Funny that they both had to act like someone they weren’t.
When the doors open and the men entered, the room quieted. All the women checked out their potential dates like they were in a meat market. Veronica’s heart drummed in her chest and her palms began to sweat. Just great.

Weekend Writing Warriors - WIP New York Minute #8Sunday

Another week has already passed and I'm back with more of my WIP, New York Minute
Chloe has dragged Veronica to a Speed Dating event. Veronica is not happy.

As for herself, she didn’t care if she found a date, but for her friend she’d endure this speed dating concept.
It’d been awhile since she went on a decent date. For some reason, she attracted the nerdy-type ... thick glasses, pocket protectors, the works. Yet, they weren’t her type at all. A tall, dark figure came to mind from her co-worker’s wedding a few weeks ago ... now, he was her type. Tall, dark, Latin, with tattoos splayed on his arm...and other parts that surprised her.
She laughed at herself, because no one would even guess that he was the type of man that turned her on. Little sweet accountant Veronica had a hidden, seductive side that would shock the panties off her friends.

Weekend Writing Warriors - WIP New York Minute #8Sunday

Another weekend and another 8 sentences from my WIP, New York Minute. I will continue where I left off. If you need to read last week's 8, which is the beginning of the WIP, click HERE.

Chloe pulled Veronica tighter. “Speed dating is different than a regular bar atmosphere.”
“Have you done this before?”
“Never with you.” They walked another block and Chloe stopped in front of the Aria Lounge, her hands held out like a showgirl.
Other women grouped up in the entrance, pretty women, dressed for success ... or sex. Veronica looked down at her simple black dress and green fitted jacket with a swooshy scarf around her neck, and wished she wore something else. All these other ladies had low cut blouses, too-tight pants, or short skirts that didn’t leave too much to the imagination. Veronica looked -- blah.
“Chloe, I don’t want to do this.”

Twenty Questions, Strip Style: New York Minute #sixsunday

Today marks the last Six Sentence Sunday. I've truly enjoyed reading other people's stories and have met some amazing writers.

Today's sentences come from my current WIP, New York Minute. Veronica and Diego decide to get to know one another in a fun way.

She held her shoulders back, flipped her hair over one shoulder and lowered her lids. “Let’s make this fun.”
He raised his eyebrows, a gleam in his eyes. “Already, I’m intrigued.”
She scooted closer to him, not allowing any space in between them. “For every question we ask, we take something off.” She tugged his t-shirt away from his chest and let go, with a snap.
He laughed. “I like this idea. We learn and play at the same time.” He put his hands behind his head and leaned back. “Me first.”

New York Minute: Six Sentence Sunday

I was sad to hear that Six Sentence Sunday will be coming to an end on January 27. So, I thought I'd participate in the last  #sixsunday's with my current WIP.

Six Sentence Sunday is a day where published or non published authors share six sentences from their work. I will share my first six sentences from my newest WIP, New York Minute. I will pick up where I left off last week.

Chloe and Veronica

They walked another block and Chloe stopped in front of the Aria Lounge. “Here it is.”

Six Sentence Sunday: New York Minute #sixsunday

I was sad to hear that Six Sentence Sunday will be coming to an end on January 27. So, I thought I'd participate in the last three #sixsunday's with my current WIP.

Six Sentence Sunday is a day where published or non published authors share six sentences from their work. I will share my first six sentences from my newest WIP, New York Minute.

On the Street.... 34th St., New York ~ Exactly what my friend Rose and I did everyday in New York ~ Strolled ~

Every time Veronica’s friend concocted some ridiculous scheme on how to meet men, she blackmailed Veronica to partake in it. This particular plan was over-the-top. Chloe should know that Veronica was an on-the-border agoraphobic. In fact, just thinking about meeting men in this way practically gave her hives.
“I can’t believe you’re making me do this,” Veronica groaned.
Chloe looped her hand through Veronica’s elbow to keep her from escaping. “It’ll be fun. Maybe you’ll meet the man of your dreams.”

I love to hear comments, so please tell me what you think!
