[Release Day] Endre by ST Bende #releaseday #mustread

Endre by ST Bende
Book II of The Elsker Saga
Release: September 9, 2013
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Entranced Publishing, Rush

Blurb:
Sometimes, finding your destiny means doing the exact opposite of what The Fates have planned.

Winning the heart of an immortal assassin was a dream come true for Kristia Tostenson. Now she’s knee deep in wedding plans, goddess lessons, and stolen kisses. But her decision to become immortal could end in heartbreak -- not only for Kristia, but for the god who loves her. Because while Ull would do anything to protect his bride, even the God of Winter is powerless against the Norse apocalypse. Ragnarok is coming. And the gods aren’t even close to ready.

About the Author:

Before finding domestic bliss in suburbia, ST Bende lived in Manhattan Beach (became overly fond of Peet’s Coffee) and Europe… where she became overly fond of McVities cookies. Her love of Scandinavian culture and a very patient Norwegian teacher inspired the books of The Elsker Saga (TUR, ELSKER and ENDRE). She is an audio co-host of #NALitChat, and helps compile indie new releases for the USA Today HEA blog. She hopes her characters make you smile and that one day, pastries will be considered a health food.

Find ST on Twitter, her blog, or send her an e-mail. While you’re at it, introduce yourself to @UllMyhr -- when he’s not saving the cosmos from dark elves, he loves meeting new friends. Especially the human kind.

What do you want to know?” Ull lowered his sunglasses lazily and eyed me with a look that made my insides burn.
Well,” I paused. “Uh… what am I supposed to do if I’m attacked?”
You mean if this happened?” Ull launched himself off the chaise, wrapping one arm around my waist and dragging me across the beach. He cradled me in his arms and landed in the froth where the ocean met the shore.
See? I’m totally defenseless?” I gazed up at him, my back pressed firmly against the wet sand. He hovered over me, supporting his weight on his forearms.
I am afraid you are.” Piercing blue eyes locked in on mine. Between the depth of his stare and the heat from his abs, I forgot everything else.
Um …” I bit my bottom lip.
Ull tilted his head to one side, a small smile playing at one corner of his mouth. “Now what did you want to know?”
I--” I broke off as a wave washed over us. The warm saltwater lapped up to my waist then retreated, leaving a film of sand over my legs.
You were asking me how to defend yourself?” Dangit, it was hard to focus with Ull’s dripping body pressing against mine. Yes, I wanted whatever it was I’d asked about. Self-defense, right. But there was something else I wanted more.
I bent my knee and twined my calf around Ull’s. I shifted my hips just an inch and stared into those endless blue eyes. They sparkled in the sunlight. My arms were trapped beneath his torso, so I turned my palms upward to touch the spot where his chest met his shoulders. It was so smooth, so firm, and so very, very warm. My eyes never left his as I moved my thumb along the line of his shoulder, down his biceps and down to the crook of his arm. I drew a slow circle inside his elbow and Ull blinked.
Kristia,” he whispered.
Yes?” I tried to reach up to stroke the stubble lining his square chin, but my arms were pinned.
You are not trying to defend yourself.”
So?” I raised my head and kissed his jaw. “Maybe I don’t feel like fighting you off.”
Mmm,” Ull closed his eyes as I kissed my way up to his ear. “So if someone came after you, you would just let them do this?”
He swiftly rolled onto his back, forcing me on top of him. He shoved his fingers in my hair and tugged gently, pulling my head back. He kept the other hand just above the bottom of my bikini, firmly pressing my hips into his. I squirmed against the hold, trying to find a way out of his grip. Though I tactically had the upper hand, I couldn’t move.
Well I wouldn’t let just anyone do this.”
I should hope not,” he growled softly. He raked his teeth along my throat and paused at the hollow of my neck. “Because this could end very badly for you.” He ran his tongue along my collarbone. I shivered.
In a lightning-quick move, Ull flipped me onto my back and pinned my arms above my head with one hand. I gazed adoringly at the fierce assassin glowering over me. “And this. What would you do if someone did this to you?”
Uh,” I blinked. If I told Ull what I really wanted to do right now, I’d turn every possible shade of crimson.
Focus Kristia.” Ull stared at me. “What would you do if you were trapped?”
I… uh… I’d,” I blushed. “You seriously want me to fight you off?”
If you are so bent on going through with this little exercise, then yes. Give it your best shot. And then I believe, you promised to pay me for the lesson.”
Gladly.” I narrowed my eyes and wrenched my arm as hard as I could. It didn’t budge. I tried again but it was futile.
You are outmaneuvered and I am twice your weight. Try something else.” Ull commanded.
I threw my shoulder into his chest and tried to roll to one side.
You cannot out-force me. Look at the difference in our masses. Think tactically, Kristia. What can you do that will debilitate me?”
My eyes widened. “You don’t want me to--”
I want you to find a way to get me off you. Do what you have to do.”
I closed my eyes and raised a knee to his groin. Ull groaned and rolled off me.
I’m so sorry! You said to--”
He raised a hand and waved at me, turning away.
I’m sorry,” I repeated.
That was good.” He rolled back with a grimace. “But if someone is bent on capturing you, they will come back for more. And quickly. Your next step should be to run.”
If you want I can get some ice for--”
Run, darling.” It was a threat. “Now.”

Our Favorite Heroes -- Ull, Jake, Colin are back Like Never Before!

We're at it again!!!

ST Bende, author of Elsker and Endre, and I love to have fun! Today we're featuring our favorite heroes -- those from our books.

First, we have to see them shake and wiggle. Starring Ull (from Elsker), Jake (from Time Changes Everything), Colin (from Breaking the Rules) and a sneak peek at two new characters you will meet later this year, Ty (from Trouble with Gold) and Grant (from Time Out, Valentine)

Ull (Alexander Skarsgard), Jake (Matt Bomer), Colin (Chris O'Donnel), Ty (from Trouble with Gold) and Grant (from Time Out, Valentine)

It's no lie that ST has actually met her hero, Alexander Skarsgard. Yep! For reals. Here's a photo to prove it. And check out this blog post for more details & photos: The Day I Met Ull

So, it's only fair that I "pretend" that I met my heroes too (thanks to Faceinthehole.com).

Here I am with Jake (aka Matt Bomer) from Time Changes Everything. Jake's a bigshot lawyer in new York City. You can read Jake's story today ... available at all ebook retailers!

Now, I'm happy to introduce my latest hero, Dr. Colin Calaway (aka Chris O'Donnel). Colin is a successful doctor, but also a dad busy raising his son alone. When he meets Hope Robinson, his son's principal, he tempts her to break the rules. Breaking the Rules was released on July 8 from Crimson Romance. Check it out!

Now that you've briefly met our heroes, it's time to go buy those books so you can really get to know them. Thanks for stopping by today!

NA & YA Authors Share How They Break the Rules

In honor of release week for Breaking the Rules, we're back with more authors sharing how they BREAK THE RULES. Today I'm sharing my fave YA & NA authors.

STBende, Author of Elsker
How do I break the rules? I don't. I'm a notorious rule follower. Occasionally I add more than the recommended amount of Mexican Vanilla to my baking, but that's the extent of it. I'm the girl who cried when I got a parking ticket because I was "in trouble". So lame, right?

How has your character broken the rules? Elsker's Kristia inherited that trait from me. She's read Emily Post cover to cover and she follows rules to the letter... until the day she falls in love with the Norse God of Winter. Because while god-mortal relationships are strictly forbidden, there's no denying the force between Asgard's most lethal assassin and the small town girl who captures his heart. After all, sometimes finding your destiny means doing the exact opposite of what The Fates have in store.

Kara Leigh Miller, Author of The Georgia Corbins
How do you / did you break the rules?
I've never really been much of a rule breaker. All through high school and even now, I've always followed the rules because I was afraid of getting into trouble--not so much with my parents because they rarely punished me, but with the high school principal or teachers....the law! lol. When I used to go to my friend's houses, we'd sneak out and go meet boys. They were usually older boys; boys with cars we knew our parents wouldn't let us see. I think that was the only time I ever really broke the rules.
How has your character broken the rules?
Ali Philips from The Georgia Corbins is always breaking the rules. When her parents leave her home alone (which happens a lot), she has specific instructions: No boys in the house. Yeah, she doesn't listen. Levi and Tucker are always coming over--sometimes they'll even sneak into her room when her parents are home. She skips classes, gets into fights, sneaks out of her window to go hang out with the Corbin boys; she stole her daddy's pick-up truck once. Oh, and she did the typical teenager, "I'm going to my friend's house to spend the night" when in reality she went camping with a group of people and slept in a tent with a boy!

Georgann Swiger, Author of Adorned
How have you broken the rules?
I’m usually not a rule breaker. I tried to play by the rules when I was looking to publisher my YA manuscript ADORNED. The first thing I did was query agents. That’s what you’re supposed to do, right? After sending query after query and getting nowhere, I decided to go directly to a publisher by taking a shot at a twitter pitch contest with Entranced Publishing. In one tweet, I had to sell my manuscript to an editor. Somehow, that single sentence did what a query letter couldn’t; it caught someone’s attention. When I got an offer from the publisher at Entranced, I couldn’t believe it.  And I did it without the help of an agent or the query letter I spent months writing. Today, I’m glad I broke the rules that say you need to write a query, get an agent, and then find a publisher. If I hadn’t, I might still be dreaming of having my book published instead of making plans for its November release.

How have your characters broken the rules?
Micah, the love interest of my main character Anya in ADORNED, is an angel who always tries to do what’s right, but ends up teetering on the edge of breaking the rules. The first rule he breaks is when he performs a miracle. Even though that mistake’s forgiven, he’s blindsided by romantic feelings for Anya. While struggling to stay committed to his duty to Heaven, the temptation of forbidden love is overwhelming. But who expects to fall in love? Like Anya says, “You don’t choose these feelings, these feelings choose you.” And one kiss is all it will take for him to break the one rule that can land him in Hell.
ADORNED is scheduled for release in November. Between Heaven and Hell is forbidden love.

Louise D. Gornall, Author of In Stone
How have you broken the rules?
Okay, so when I was a teen I broke the cardinal rule of dating and hooked up with my best friend. He was so cute & sweet & we got on so well. Obviously we were destined to have the greatest relationship since time began. Suffice it to say that turned sour quicker than milk left under a heat lamp...

How has your character broken the rules?
Gargoyle Jack breaks every rule. He's like the love child of James Bond & Skatey McSkater Boy. He's cocky & confident and his need to protect the humans overshadows the voice of authority, every-single-time.

One of My Fantasy Crushes - #TeamUll #Elsker #NATourney

It's no surprise to my regular readers that I'm a sassy, sensual romance writer who LOVES men. Yes, I'm not ashamed to admit it. I often fall in love with those sexy heroes I read about and no better fantasy crush deserves an award more than ULL from my amazing writer friend, S.T. Bende's NA novel, Elsker

Here’s the blurb for Elsker:
You don’t win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way.
Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. He’s an honest to goodness Norse God – an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia’s crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms. Her orderly life just got very messy.

Ull is not just any boyfriend/hero -- he is a the Norse God of Winter and Thor's step-son. I could just stop right there. What's not to love about that? BUT, I will continue, because there's so much MORE to love! Here's my list of why I love Ull and why YOU should vote for Ull in the NA Tourney.

1. He knows what he wants and gets what he wants -- except for that small-town girl, Kristia, who somehow steps in over his head.
2. He's completely in love with Kristia -- even brings her flowers, prepares a picnic and dotes on her in any way he can. **sigh**
3. Not only that, but Ull is willing to change his life as he knows it for Kristia. Now that's love!
4. He's an Asgardian Assasin. Imagine all that training he must endure -- hot abs anyone?
5. He makes the most amazing waffles with Olaug's secret recipe.
6. He's more than intelligent, if you ask me, he's a genius. Having attended several universities and receiving degrees in several areas, he knows his stuff!
7. He's always a gentleman, opening the car door, giving Kristia his jacket and -- ahem -- waiting until they've tied the knot to consummate their love.
8. He protects his people. Remember that Asgardian Assasin thing? Well, being a killer for his people is pretty dang hot!
9. He's a faithful friend -- Gunter and Inga could vouch for it.
10. He's absolutely gorgeous! Tall (6'5"), blond, blue eyed, well-dressed and muscular. Imagine a younger Alexander Skarsgard. Yep. (wiping off that drool as I think about him).

Now for a little fun. I gotta "HEY GIRL" Ull. He's totally worth it and totally up there with my Ry-Ry obsession. Ready? Here ya go!

And if you didn't catch ST Bende and I's Hey Girl showdown in the past, check these links out:

AND... that's not all!  Ull's fantastic fans have created limericks in support of Ull as the NA crush. Check these out.

So, what can YOU do? First and foremost, you can vote for ULL on Tuesday at the NA Crush Tourney at NA Alley! Remember it's TUESDAY, JULY 2!

Also, for more Ull, you can follow Ull on Twitter at www.twitter.com/UllMyhr .

Which book has your favorite Alpha Male?

A $5 Amazon Gift Card
OR

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $130 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: An Awesome Swag Pack!

So, without further ado, please welcome my featured authors.

Chantel Rhondeau, author of Always and Forever
Well, you've read my book, Melinda, so you know I don't 100% go for those macho, alpha males. I like a man with a softer side. I'd say a blend of alpha and beta - take charge when I need him to, but be kind and nurturing when I need that. However, my new WIP involves a very alpha male and I have to admit, as we peel back the layers and I get to know him better, he is a wonderful man. Hmmm... too many alphas in books to narrow it down without saying Eric Northman again from the Sookie Stackhouse books, but I've got the perfect one from a TV show. Have you ever watched Law and Order, Special Victims Unit? An actor who used to be on there, Christopher Meloni, played Detective Stabler. Not only was he very alpha, but very, very HOT! :-) Hotness always factors in with those alphas, doesn't it? I would recommend watching reruns of this show if you missed him!

Rachel Kall, author of Legally Undercovera romantic suspense to be published by Entranced Publishing April 22, 2013

I think a true Alpha Male is the perfect combination of strength and smarts. The Alpha Male knows what he wants and is willing to fight for it. My favorite Alpha Males can be in found in books by Suzanne Brockmann, Roxanne St. Claire, and Catherine Mann all writers of wonderful romantic suspense.

Rachelle Ayala, author of Broken Build and Michal's Window

An Alpha male is decisive with a take charge attitude and tough exterior. He doesn't like to talk about his feelings, but if you're the special woman who can squeeze into his heart, you'll find him loyal and utterly adorable. Just don't let anyone else catch on.

Dave Jewell of my latest book, Broken Build, is my favorite alpha male. A hard charging CEO who fires at will, he hides his brokenness with a playboy lifestyle... until Jen uncovers the dusty crib and baby toys.

Dariel Raye, author of Dark Sentinels: Sable

Two of my favorite alpha males are Nalini Singh's Noel and Galen, from "Angel's Flight." Both are men of few words, yet when they speak, they are intelligent, insightful, and direct. They are both powerful, protective men who are not intimidated by a strong woman; in fact, they support and encourage strength in the women they love, taking whatever steps they deem necessary to help them acknowledge and fulfill their dreams. These men make me feel safe, willing to risk their lives to protect me from harm. They show me I am loved instead of wasting time with flowery lip-service.

Christina McKnight, author of Only in Her Dreams

Alpha males? Women still like alpha males? Well, I’m more of a beta male kinda girl! Five reasons I’m addicted to this type of man: 1. He’ll let his woman pay the tab every once in a while, 2. He’ll admit his mistakes and apologize, 3. He doesn’t need the approval of his ‘pack’, 4. He doesn’t bulldoze people to get his way, 5. He’s not afraid to admit when he’s fallen in love!  My advice…whether your beta man is in the flesh or among the pages of a good book, hold tight to him and never let him go!

ST Bende, author of Elsker, a mythology based novel to be published by Entranced Publishing May 20, 2013

I feel like choosing a single favorite Alpha Male is a Herculean task.  I suppose I could start there - Hercules.  Now that's an Alpha Male.  Even the Disney cartoon version was dreamy - strong, sensitive, powerful... a halfway decent singer.  And I'd be remiss if I mentioned a mythological Alpha without bringing up Thor.  Strong, powerful, most likely not all that sensitive (but who really cares when the guy wields the power of Mjolnir and harnesses the forces of thunder?), and probably really good looking, given his Nordic roots.  But I'm fairly certain the ultimate Alpha Male was James Bond himself.  Sometimes dark, sometimes brooding, always elegant, well dressed, refined, dignified, and able to handle any situation.  Doesn't every woman fancy a man who has it all under control?  And who among us wouldn't love to be a Bond Girl?  I wouldn't object to looking even a smidge like Ursula Andress in that white bikini, walking out of the Caribbean to meet James Bond.  Hey, this blog post is about fantasy, isn't it?

Melinda Dozier, author of Time Changes Everything, to be published by Entranced Publishing June 3, 2013

Alpha males are attractive because they know what they want. There´s nothing sexier than a confident, fearless, bold man. When it comes to love, an Alpha is ahead of the game. He doesn´t ask for love, but he tells the herione he wants it. He needs it. He has got to have it, and he will do whatever it takes to get it.

Jake in Time Changes Everything is the perfect Alpha. He has all the qualities I mentioned above. Once he realizes he's ready to love Amanda, he goes for it. He only has to convince her to admit it, too. What are some of the ways he convinces Amanda to take the risk on love? Find out in June, 2013 when Time Changes Everything is published.

My Road to Publishing: First Steps

As an aspiring published author, I loved to read other's blogs about their "trips" into the published world. Since I have signed my contract with Entranced Publishing, I have been on a whirlwind of excitement. So, as promised, I will share my experiences of becoming a published writer as all the steps unfold.

After signing the contract, I received a lot of information from my publisher. Below I will discuss a few of the fun steps I've been through.

1. Online Author Group - A wonderful asset of Entranced Publishing is the camaraderie between the soon-to-be published authors. We have an online group where we can post questions, find information from our editor, or just say hi. I have to tell you that Entranced Publishing has a great team of fun, chatty, uplifting authors. I suggest you visit their blogs or find them on twitter. Their links are below:

2. Art Design for Book Cover - Receiving the art design form regarding my future book cover gave me the heebee jeebees. Every new author dreams of their new cover, and I couldn't wait to see mine. However, I had visions in my head of how it would look already. Knowing that someone else was really in charge shook me a little, because you never know if they have the same thoughts as the author. I didn't need to worry. Little did I know, my own publisher/editor, Ashley Christman, worked my cover herself, and she had the exact vision as I did! In fact, we both had the same couple idea without telling each other. I've already decided that Ashley is a superwoman! She worked my cover in less than a week and now the product is a fabulous cover. In fact, I want to stare at it non-stop, like a love-sick teenager. I think I will print it out and frame it for my office.

What now? Actually a lot! I am working on a prequel novella to Time Changes Everything, currently titled Boy Next Door. I actually had it written up before, but never shared it with anyone but a few loyal critters (you know who you are!) It'll be sent to Entranced and hopefully released before the Time Changes Everything launch date of June 3, 2013.

Also, waiting on my first round of edits and then I know I will be super busy! Am I crazy in saying I can't wait? Remind me that I said that in about a month's time.

Thanks for stopping by. Check back next week for more about my Road to Publishing.
