Breaking the Rules is a novel close to my heart. The story stemmed from a personal tragedy in our family -- losing my sister-in-law. After watching my own brother-in-law start dating again, I thought, "Hey, that'd make a good start to a story." Then Colin was born. He's far and away from my real brother-in-law, but they do have something in common. They both are raising their children alone. In steps Hope, the new middle school principal at Harbor Baby Prep. They can't seem to get enough of each other, even if it's against the rules.
